Done a lot of job interviews and got no successful job offer? You want to know the reasons why you are still unemployed? Some might complain that recruiters are the problem but have you ever thought that the problem is about you? Today we guide you through 5 reasons why it is hard for you to get a job offer:
Poor personal appearance. How you dress during a job interview reflects your character, and recruiters are keen to judge if you are fit or not for a job position depending on what you are wearing. Your style should be professional and inspiring; it shouldn’t be something that brings a distraction to the company. Dressing poorly could eliminate you directly as soon as you open the interview door.
Unprepared for the job interview. Going for a job interview not knowing the company profile and job description could be catastrophic. Employers can easily know that a candidate is not reliable if you cannot talk about their company in details. You must also know how to answer questions such as: ‘Tell us about yourself’? You should be able to answer this question in less than 2 minutes. Failure to prepare yourself well can disqualify you in the early stages of the interview.
You are not qualified. Rushing to a job interview while you do not possess the necessary skills and abilities could be bad news for you. Don’t apply for a job that doesn’t match your experience and educational background. Recruiters do not waste time on candidates who lack abilities and skills required for a particular job position. Make sure you also don’t waste your time going to that job interview!
You lack confidence. You might sound great in the phone, look good on your CV, and dress well during a job interview, but fail during a face to face interview. The reason is that you fail to sell yourself comfortably, look shy and nervous, lack eye contact and sometimes tremble. Lack of confidence immediately disqualifies you from most job interview.
Failing to establish your value or worth to the company. If you just sit and talk of what or how you expect the company to reward you without explaining what you would offer to the company then you are very likely to loose the job offer. Employers want to understand your worthiness to the company, extra skills, how to improve performance etc. They should see that you come with something that will make the difference!
